Joe Satriani is a world-famous guitar virtuoso who started out as a guitar teacher for many other future virtuosos like Steve Vai and Metallica's Kirk Hammett. In the mid-80s he started a successful solo career, but also played for Mick Jagger in 1988 and Deep Purple in 1993, as well as supergroup Chickenfoot. He is a 15-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold over ten million albums, making him the best selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time.

Is There Love in Space? is his tenth studio album and sees him singing for the first time since his self-titled album released in 1995.
